Join the Town of Ossining, The Village of Ossining, Green Ossining, and the Westchester Cycle Club for an Inaugural Community Bike Ride on MOGO, helping to give us a head start on our celebration of Car Free Day on Friday, September 21st.

What’s a MOGO? Local municipalities have been working to create routes from downtown areas to the North County and South County Trails. Millwood-Ossining-Go! has worked with WCC to create several routes, and this ride is your first opportunity to ride with an escort!

Westchester Bike Club’s Kate and Victor will lead a multi-level group using a modified version of the Briarcliff Route, starting at Ossining High School. The group will make our way to the trail and ride for a while, (the distance can be modified and/or differentiated depending on the needs of the group) and then ride back to OHS for Victor’s famous Flat Tire Workshop (optional).

This is a great ride for anyone living locally who would like to become more active on the bike. The NCT/SCT is one of my favorite places to ride, and riding from home is the perfect way to nurture mind, body and spirit and the planet! There will be lots of support during the ride, and we will give a safety talk before getting started, but please be prepared with a working bike (with gears- yes there are some hills). We will have a pump and can help you at the start, but if you have not been out on your bike for a while, it’s a good idea to take it to a local bike shop to get tuned up. A helmet is a MUST and please bring a water bottle.

Rain will cancel the ride, so check back by 7:00am that morning for an update.

Hopefully, we will see you soon!
