What a glorious holiday weekend! I went for a walk, got out in the sun, and enjoyed the fantastic weather we are having this winter.
Even though I am enjoying our unusual winter weather, like many people, I am very concerned with climate change, and how the weather patterns have changed all over the world.
Many of our neighbors are committed to working together to save money through energy audits, finding new innovative ways of working together to save our community and planet, as well as new and exciting ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Are you interested in finding out more about the local environment, getting links to great environmental organizations, and joining like-minded people as part of a community-based environmental resource? Then go to the Green Ossining Committee website and check it out: www.greenossining.org.
We are also having Ossining Earth Day April 21, 2012 in Louis Engel Park on the waterfront.
Want to help us organize it? Please come to a meeting on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 7:30 PM in the Municipal Building (16 Croton Ave).
If you cannot make this meeting but want to help, send me an e-mail and I will get it to the Earth Day Committee Chairs so we can get you involved.
March 8, 2012 at 7:00 PM there will be a kickoff of Energize Ossining in the multipurpose room at the Community Center.
Check out the Facebook page… http://www.facebook.com/energizeossining
Look on the web page to find out how you can sign up for a FREE! (in most cases) home energy audit http://energizeny.org/
I look forward to seeing many of you at these different meetings and working side by side with you.
