December’s Green Drinks: Holiday Edition! Consumerism Unwrapped (and Re-Wrapped): Thursday 12/14 @7p at Sing Sing Kill Brewery.

Love the holiday? Hate the waste?
Join us for December’s Green Drinks at Sing Sing Kill Brewery on Thursday, December 14 @7pm.  Non-alcoholic beverages are always available.
This hands-on interactive Green Drinks program is the perfect way to get ahead on your gift wrapping and learn some new skills that will help you experience the joy of giving without the guilt of creating more waste.
UPCYCLED WRAPPING PAPER: Bring your gifts to our upcycled gift wrap station where artist and educator Leticia Perelstein will assist you in preparing a beautiful holiday presentation with wrapping materials like children’s artwork.
T-SHIRT TOTES: Bring your favorite (or not so favorite) t-shirt and our friends from Green Ossining will guide you through no-sew way to transform it into a tote bag. It might even be the gift bag for an oddly shaped item.
FUROSHIKI GIFT WRAPPING: Wrap your holiday gifts using upcycled textiles. Furoshiki is a traditional Japanese technique that embraces the philosophy of reuse in some of the most beautiful, functional manners. Bring the gift/gifts you want to wrap and textiles/fabric you’d like to use to wrap your gift/s. The fabric should be larger than the gift and should be square, although rectangular pieces/scarves are wonderful options. We welcome artist and holistic educator, Yoshimi Arai to instruct on Furoshiki. Through her business, Magokoro, Yoshimi will also be selling some of her handmade Japanese paper creations in case you are looking for some unique low/no carbon gifts! Throughout history, Furoshiki has been used to transport everything from clothes, gifts, food, to other goods . With this method – the gift wrap is part of the gift and the gift wrap is intended to be used over and over.
C’mon!  Join us!  It’ll be fun!
