Shredding Old Ideas About Leaf Removal

It is our pleasure to announce the upcoming Conversations on Conservation Café titled “Love ‘Em and Leave ‘Em: Shredding Old Ideas about Leaf Removal” on May 20 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Registration is from 8:30 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

The CoC will be held at the Greenburgh Public Library, 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford, NY. Click here for directions.

Hudson Valley Fare Offered by Local Chefs

Enjoy the freshest seasonal produce and wonderful foods cooked by the best local chefs in the region during a benefit dinner for Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center on Saturday, May 14, 6 p.m., in Yorktown Heights.

Presented by the Friends of Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center, the event will celebrate local chefs, farms and artisans who will feature the bounty of the Hudson Valley with seasonal cooking and a host of wonderful food offerings.

Local chefs preparing the dinner will be Matt Hutchins from Birdsall House in Peekskill, Lisa Moir from The Blue Pig in Croton-on Hudson, and Sharion Waithe from Sharion’s D’Lish Dish from Yorktown.

Learn new job skills and get certified!

Cost: No charge (grant?funded) – But you MUST attend all day to get the certification.

Date/Time: May 5, 2011 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (lunch on your own)

Location: Educational Opportunity Center, Room 607, 26 South Broadway, Yonkers NY 10701

Audience: One?Stop Employment Center clients, unemployed or laid off construction or municipal highway workers (Must provide information for an Individual Training Account (ITA) to attend)
